Dilanka Indusara of Asian Grammar School took part in the finals of the All Island Junior Nationals Under 13 Singles Final. Dilanka played exceptionally and was placed as the Runner- Up. We at Asian Grammar School congratulate Dilanka for his great achievement and for bringing glory to Asian Grammar School in a National level.


Asian Grammar School received the new entrants of Grade 1 by a special welcome ceremony at the school auditorium

A set of swimmers from Asian Grammar School left on the 15th of December, 2019 to the Swimming and Diving Championships in Bangkok, where they are representing Sri Lanka as of now and are dominating in the proud name of AGS.

The students of Asian Grammar School took initiative to paint the walls of the school neighborhood with grandeur - in following the rest of the country’s footsteps. The Gothatuwa new town old police station, and a few electricity posts leading upto the school were painted by the students and teachers where they added colour and beauty to our surroundings, on the 14th of December.

The "Learning for an Effective Primary Classroom 2019 Seminar and Workshop" was hosted by the Association of International Schools in Lanka (AISL) on the 11th, 12th and 13th December, 2019 at Asian Grammar School, Colombo.

Asian Grammar School proudly celebrated the joyful event ‘Christmas Carols 2019’ on 3rd of December, at the Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church, Gotatuwa. Our chief celebrant for the evening, Rev. Father Malcolm Kandappa (Academic in-charge of the Engineering Faculty of Aquinas College), the sisters of the Gotatuwa church convent along with our dear madam principal, Dr. Thushari Koralage, our dear deputy principals followed by our respective teachers were present to grace the event.

Thushari Koralage is the managing directress and the owner of Asian Grammar School and Giggles International Montessori in Colombo and Matara, who has spent her life time career in teaching countless schools until she built her own school “Asian Grammar school” which is now close to 20 years. She is also the president of “The Association of International Schools in Sri Lanka” where she is awarded the opportunity to communicate the unique methodologies to the other international schools as well. She was awarded an Honorary Doctorate for her entrepreneurship skills and her contribution to the field of education from the “Open International University for Complementary Medicine”

10th Cub-scout Investiture Ceremony of Asian Grammar School was held on the 22nd of November 2019 at the School Premises and 15 Cub-scouts were awarded at this ceremony.

H.T. Navodi Diwyanjala of Asian Grammar School won the second place in the Junior Category at the State Children's Art Competition 2019 organized by the the State Advisory Commission for Visual Arts.

The Beat Bands of Asian Grammar School that performed at the Inter Grade Beat Band competition of AGA, performed at the ITN Children’s Day program which was telecasted live on TV, on the 1st of October, 2019.

On the 2nd of October, 2019 our school celebrated the Elders Day at the school premises by inviting Elderly people from around the school neighborhood and felicitating them. The event was wholeheartedly organized by the children of the school to revere their elders.

The Primary Concert under the theme “Beautiful United Sri Lanka” was held at the BMICH on the 7th of October, 2019.The participation of all children from grades 1 to 5 performing their talents on stage, was witnessed by a full house at the BMICH main auditorium.

The MUN Club of AGS dominated at TIMUN 2019 (The International Model United Nations Conference) which was a conference exceeding 150 school students from schools such as Lyceum, Royal Institute, Ladies College and Ilma Girls International School, on the 15th of September, 2019.

The Thinetha Art Exhibition was held on the 14th and 15th of September, 2019 at J. D. A. Pereira Hall, University of Visual and Performing Arts, Horton Place.

Along with the world chain of schools affiliated with ENO (Environment Online), the “Ride to School for Climate Change” Project was held today, on the 11th of September 2019. This was held with the participation of the students, parents, teachers of Asian Grammar School and the overseas International schools associated with ENO including schools in Helsinki, Finland. As we all rode to school in bicycles to inspire action against Climate Change by learning how much carbon dioxide a small cycling event helps to remove from the atmosphere.
